SONS OF THE DESERT

33rd UK CONVENTION

Hosted by the Laughing Gravy Tent of Birmingham

4th till 7th May 2012

Next year's UK Convention in Birmingham has already sold out.

As from today (24th August), we are no longer taking bookings.

If you haven't already booked and you wish to be put on a waiting list (in case of cancellations) let us know.

We plan to return to the Great Barr Hotel - one of Birmingham's last independent hotels.

Highlights of the weekend will include:

Trip to Cadbury World - experience a whole lot of chocolatey fun and discover a proud history of chocolate making in Birmingham (while it's still here!).

Visit to the Bartons Arms pub - see where the Boys stayed in 1954 on their last visit to Brum, and enjoy a drink or two in this stunning Victorian pub.

The Hall-lympics - at last, Birmingham stages a major sporting event. Forget the Olympics, here's an opportunity to compete in a much more special tournament.

This is More Than I Can Stand - your chance to purchase a new book about Charlie Hall by Grand Sheik John Ullah.

Unique Birmingham bred entertainment - music and laughter throughout the weekend with some brilliant local talent.

Plus the usual Film Shows, Quiz, Dealers' Room, Fancy Dress, Raffle, Sons Entertain and socialising. "'Twas ever thus!"

NB: The hotel is offering a special rate of £35 pppn for those wishing to stay the night before or after the convention - contact the hotel direct to book these extra nights.

In typical Laurel and Hardy fashion, we have just realised that we have put the wrong phone number on the booking form.

Anyone wishing to contact Graham Hollister, his phone number is

0121 311 1602 and not 0121 611 1602.
