At the Panopticon

It was on one of the coldest evenings ever for the Call of the Cuckoos Tent for their big screen show at the Britannia Panopticon Music Hall in Glasgow on 4th April, when the tent started its thirteen season of Laurel and Hardy film shows.

The laughter was warm, though, and the show was well attended - as always! In fact, the hall was full to overflowing. Stand by for a fuller report.

Grand Sheik Willie McIntyre finally met "The other monkey"

Forthcoming book

Ant Mitchell-Waite has sent us a few sample pages of his forthcoming book and it looks like another super read. It looks in detail at Laurel and Hardy lookalikes, impersonators, and actors. Ant says, "I am not giving the title yet, and don't have a release date - but it should be soon. Will know more in a week or two."

Mess beer

The award winning Kelham Island Brewery from Sheffield has released a beer called Another Fine Mess which is a Vanilla Porter and by all accounts very nice too.

I will be on the lookout for it in the next few days to sample it myself.
