Wonderful news, everybody! We have just reached our minimum target of ¤7,500, so it's a go-ahead! A most heartfelt thank-you and a pat on the shoulder to all our supporters, who have made this possible.

But don't forget: we only need to raise ¤3,500 more to reach our LEVEL 2 target of ¤11,000, and an additional unreleased recording will be added to the CD! Spread the word!

Ed Balls as Oliver Hardy

On Saturday 5th November, Ed Balls and Katya Jones dressed as Laurel and Hardy for their performance on Strictly Come Dancing (BBC1). Personally I go out of my way to avoid this programme, but on this occasion I should not have been so hasty! Below is a report of their performance from Daily Mail online that appeared the following day

Fred Karno on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip

On Monday 14th November, antique expert Philip Serrell and his special guest Jennifer Saunders visited Newbury. They visited the Newbury Corn Exchange Theatre where they met David Crump, author and Fred Karno expert. In a four minute segment he spoke eloquently about Fred Karno and the influence he had on Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel. The segment ended when he spoke about the slapstick humour and custard pies and Philip Serrell having a pie thrust into his face.

Whisky with Laurel and Hardy

Trip Advisor had a review of Glenesk Hotel, High Street, Edzell, Brechin DD9 7TF, Scotland :

We spent two nights at the Glenesk Hotel as a base for a walking weekend. By all accounts the hotel has been substantially renovated in the last four years, and certainly the fabric of the hotel has clearly had considerable recent investment. We lost count of the number of Laurel and Hardy figures distributed throughout the hotel - not a bad thing by any means!
