37th UK Convention
28th April till 1st May, 2017
Well, the Convention is over for another year and I think it was a great success!
I'd like to say a massive thank you to David Wilson, Director of Bradford City of Film, for all his help in sorting out licences to show the films, and for his fascinating presentation on Friday evening.
Thanks to David Jane, General Manager of the Picturehouse Cinema at the Media Museum, and projectionist for the film show on Sunday afternoon, for all his help in putting on a great afternoon's entertainment.
Thanks to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, whose staff are all volunteers, and who keep the wonderful old trains running through the beautiful countryside of the Worth Valley. The bar's not bad either!
Thanks also to the Friends of Haworth Park, who went out of their way to welcome us to their lovely park, provide seating, power for the music, and a step ladder for the Bacon Grabbers and Yorkshire Ferret Stepladder game!
Thanks to the Devil's Jukebox, who provided such great music to keep us entertained on Friday night, and to Jamie, the Yorkshire Magician, who amazed us with his tricks during the afternoon.
A huge thank you to Philip and Tony from the Lucky Dog Theatre who worked so hard to keep us entertained on Saturday and Sunday night. Their knowledge of and love for the Boys shines through in their performances and I think the Way Out West dancing was just hilarious!
A big thank you to the Midland Hotel staff who I thought were brilliant throughout the weekend, and who went out of their way to be helpful in the planning for the Convention.
But the biggest thank you is for all of you who came to the Convention, who helped out when help was needed, and who created such a great atmosphere throughout the weekend. You made it a Convention that I'll remember for ever!
